I’m a 42 year old female who goes through my daily routines as any other healthy 42 year old would. Like most everyone I had days I didn’t feel great and ignored it due to the fact I had too much to do. But finally I decided to see someone about the symptoms I was having. I decided to see Dr. Szewczyk in Winchester and he immediately addressed my issues. Next morning I was scheduled for colonoscopy. To my surprise and horror a mass was found in my colon. I was very scared, but after talking to Dr.Szewczyk I was confident I had made the right choice in the surgeon I had chosen. He explained what he found and how we are going to take care it. We discussed the procedure called Laparoscopic Colectomy as the best option for me.

I had this procedure done the same week he found the mass and spend 3 days in the hospital. He is the only surgeon around who was doing this procedure and he made what could have been a life-altering problem into just a bump in the road. Although I’m taking chemo to insure I won’t have any more worries, I know that the treatment I received from Dr.Szewczyk and his staff played a huge part in my successful recovery. I’m glad we have surgeons like Dr.Szewczyk who stay up to date on all of the newest treatments.
